Cities: Skylines mods arrive on Xbox One

The Xbox One version of Cities: Skylines today gets support for user-created mods.

A free update for the game adds a selection of mods for you to add in your city – from boring things like swimming pools and clock towers, to giant hamster statues and UFOs.

1

A UFO, not a giant frisbee.

More mods will then be added via paid DLC in an upcoming add-on named the Content Creator Pack. (It’ll be free for season pass holders.)

2

An American rugby field, or something.

Another free update is on the way after that with Art Deco additions and the ability to host your own sports team.

Originally released in 2015, Cities Skylines has become the default city sim for fans left burned by EA’s Sim City debacle. The game has been kept regularly updated with all kinds of expansions, and while the Xbox One edition is a little behind the PC version’s update schedule, it is itself ahead of the PlayStation 4 edition, which arrived a little later.
